Acceler ate Memphis: Activating Memphis 3.0 Community Meeting District 4 – Chairwoman Jamita Swearengen

35 anchors identified in Memphis 3.0 will receive $400,000 each in early stage investments. Investments can include public art, new sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, and street lighting. Implementation will be complete by the end of 2023.

Bobby O’Jay street dedication

O’Jay was the morning DJ host for the “Fun Morning Show” at WDIA.

He passed away in May after 39 years with the station.

Shelby County Commissioner Mickell Lowery and Memphis City Councilwoman Jamita E. Swearengen were present during the unveiling and honorary street dedication. Union Avenue and November 6th Street in Memphis will now be dedicated to the great radio legend.
